             President’s Report

I can’t believe it was over 35 years ago I was at Ibrox to see Rangers
play Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the European Cup Winners
Cup, back then it was only a dream that we could go on to eventually
win the trophy, can history repeat itself? It will be a hard tie to win but
dreams do happen so let’s hope we can be successful. Yesterday with
a wee bit of luck on our side we reached the final of the Scottish Cup,
though we didn’t play as well as we could have but that’s football and
at the end of the day we still won, it looked like some of the players
were a bit weary after so many big games recently, so lets hope they
can get it all back on track and finish the season SPL winners, Scottish
Cup winners and EUFA cup winners. Overall this season has been very
successful for Rangers and we do seem to be back on track. Just
wanted to thank all those members who come to every game and
support Rangers and also their club, long may it continue. There are
several events coming this summer at the club so keep posted and
please try and support the club and your executive who are doing a
great job behind the scenes on your behalf.

  Secretary’s Report

It is with great sadness that I have to pass on the news of brother
Archie Wilson’s passing. Archie was larger than life and a founding
member of the Toronto #1 club as well as being a member here in
Bramalea. Archie will be missed by the members of the club, and our
sincerest condolences go to his family and close friends.
The Funeral will be held at
    Newediuk Funeral Home
    (Kipling Chapel) :
    2058 Kipling Ave. Toronto M9W 4K5
    Friday April 25th at 1pm,
    with Visitations. ... Thursday 2 to 4pm....7 to 9pm

There are two motions to be brought to the NARSA meeting in Calgary
that will be presented to the club on Saturday at the general meeting.

Like Archie I was also on the terracing at Ibrox that night daring to
dream. Well we can still dream Fiorentina are not out of the possibility
of being beaten. Not many gave the 1972 team much of a chance of
taking and beating the German cracks Bayern Munich, however at the
end of the night we had them fighting amongst themselves. I still have
the program for that game (and all of them for the run into Barcelona)
but the one that night was a wee bit special as my dad had been picked
as the face in the crowd to win 2 free seats in the main stand, for the
next home game. Not sure if it was the prawn sandwiches or not  ;o))
but he was happily back amongst the regular bears from then on in.

How are Celtic fans like slinkys?

They are not much good for anything, but you can’t help but smile
when one tumbles down the stairs.

 Rangers News.

The Scottish Premier League has decided to extend its season by four
days until 22 May - if Rangers reach the UEFA Cup final.
They have taken the unprecedented step of publishing two sets of
fixtures for the final set of games.
We however face four games in eight days whichever fixture list
    becomes reality.
If Rangers make the UEFA Cup final on 14 May, the last round of
fixtures for the top six clubs - which must be played at the same time on
the same day - will take place on Thursday 22 May.
The Ibrox side will also travel to Motherwell on 17 May, while Gretna's
hosting of Hearts will be moved forward to 8 May.
If the team lose to Fiorentina, Rangers will travel to face St Mirren on 13
May then Motherwell two days later.
Rangers, meet Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup final on 24 May.
Our biggest rivals (the team we are going to beat on Sunday) have
objected to this, conveniently forgetting the year that they went to
Seville their game was brought forward against Dundee by 3 days to
assist them. Dundee also conveniently dropped their best 3 players
that day en route to 6-2 drubbing. (The manager was/is a Sellick share
    holder).
Even with all this there is no other team in the SPL this season being
asked to play 4 games in 8 days, yet they (yes the same them) are
harping on about the integrity and fairness of the league campaign, yet
Rangers congested fixture list is because of agreeing to play the Jan
2nd game at a later date, a waterlogged pitch, and moving a fixture to
allow the Scottish team to get together. Going to be a busy time at the
    club.
